NASA began a lunar mission (GRAIL) with the launch of a Delta II rocket carrying two spacecraft that began lunar orbit in January 2012. Our students had an opportunity to participate in this mission by sending requests to have targeted areas of the moon photographed by the MoonKam cameras aboard the twin satellites. Images transmitted back to Earth are available for viewing.
