District and Board of Education Goals

High Bridge Board of Education Goals 2022-2023

● To promote the wellbeing of our schools, the board will ensure the superintendent

has the resources necessary to continue and/or enhance practices and/or

programs that promote the social, mental, and emotional health of district staff and students

● Engage in professional development as a Board to work towards a better

understanding of:

  1. School finance

  2. The budget process.

● Improve communications with all stakeholders, including community members

without students in the district, This includes sharing how to best utilize the district Chain of Command communication method, how the Board of Education operates, and how school budgets are finalized.

 

 

High Bridge  District Goals  2022-2023

Goal 1 - Assess and identify teacher observation tool to provide more meaningful evaluations for certified staff.

Objective 1.1

  • During the 2022-2023 school year the administrative team will meet with the High Bridge Educational Association three (3) times to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of adopting a more meaningful evaluation tool.

  Objective 1.2

  • Middle School - During the 2022-23 school year one certificated staff member will visit at least two schools to review different evaluation models.  

  • Elementary School - During the 2022-23 school year one certificated staff member will visit at least two schools to review different evaluation models.  

Objective 1.3

  • Present to the High Bridge Board of Education findings and recommendation for staff evaluation to be used for district staff.

 

Goal 2. To increase student’s academic success by clarifying district standards for students, staff and parents by revising student handbooks to be in-line with high school.

Objective 2.1

  • Increase staff and Parent Communication.

    • Meet with each group on three separate occasions throughout the year. 

    • At each meeting the group will review the attendance, dress code, and discipline sections of the handbook and make recommendations.

    • Once the recommendations are approved by the administration, the updated handbook will be emailed to parents with a letter informing them of the changes.

Objective 2.2

  • Building administrators and support staff will provide data from the 2021-2022 and the 2022-2023 school year on attendance, tardies, and discipline.

  • A report will be provided to the board.

Objective 2.3

  • Continue to provide parents and staff with reminders of the new guidelines.  

  • Where necessary, provide parents with tools to assist with getting children to school on time.

  • Provide staff with professional development that targets tardiness and absenteeism.

Goal 3 – Assess and identify new K-8 math program

Objective 3.1

  • During the 2022-2023 school year, form a committee to determine the K-8 math program for future.

    • Meet with committee on three separate occasions throughout the year .

    • Meet with NHVS math coach to get their input and to make sure that our program aligns with the high schools.

  Objective 3.2

  • Provide one staff member from each building release time to review other districts math programs. 

Objective 3.3

  • Present recommendation to HBBOE and the public on new mathematics materials.
